The Fourth of July is all about good food, family and friends, and celebrating this beautiful nation we live in. Many people celebrate this great day with outdoor activities, delicious food and beverages, and a mouth watering meal cooked on the grill. The Fourth of July is just not the same without some form of barbeque.
As a rough guide, 1 to 2 quarts is enough for one person. This means that a 6 quart cooker is suitable for 3 to 6 people. A standard size for cooking an entire chicken is 6 quarts, large pots are oval or rectangular shaped to easily fit chickens and ribs.
It is a tradition to get dim sum family style as they come in a small portion of two or four pieces in one dish. Bbq ribs are one of this country's favorite meals in particular within the Southwest. Finding the ideal recipes for Bbq pork from this area in the country will no doubt bring you a winning meal. There exists no much better comfort food then a good old fashioned crockpot spare ribs.
A few very special visitors will be there from Florida too. Bush likes to thank those special folks for throwing the election his way. He has the Supreme Court members over for the BBQ too.
bbq ribs seem to be the passion of many. Today I share a recipe that was designed for ribs but I have rewritten and used for chicken. (If you want to use it for ribs this makes a 2 pound slab) My favorite chicken to use is the thigh. They have the most flavor and are easy to handle on the grill. If you are a fan of those boneless skinless chicken boobs feel free to use them. It is your mouth that's going to eat them. You will note I have suggested Your Favorite BBQ Sauce...that is basically because everyone's taste buds crave a different version of the sweet and spicy sauce. Y'all best roll up your sleeves, take off your rings, wash your hands, and let's get cooking.
Take ribs out of tupperware and either brown in a pan on the stove, or under the broiler for 10-15 minutes. While the meat is browning and forming a thin crust, pour the remaining marinade into the slow cooker pork ribs cooker.
Best: A microwave is your best option. By installing a voltage inverter of a large enough size to handle a microwave, you can have a good hot meal in a matter of minutes. This won't cost you a fortune either. A 1500 watt inverter (changes 12vdc to 110vac) will probably cost you a couple hundred dollars. And a microwave is as cheap as $39.95. You'll find plenty of use for that inverter besides pork riblets, nothing like having 110ac available when making repairs on the truck. If you want to make a good breakfast, a portable hot plate and frying pan will be the ticket for your next batch of eggs and bacon. A little popcorn at the next rest stop?
Jack in the Box located at 1055 E Tropicana Ave is another fast food type restaurant that is open 24 hours a day. Again you can either drive up and order or come inside and sit down. Before you order anything, you have to order the strawberry smoothie, it is unbelievable, and its only a few bucks.. Then once you have done that, you have a choice of burgers and fries, chicken and fish, salads, and breakfast items. You just cannot go wrong !
